Turning off all sound?

Is there the ability to turn off game sounds, as well as QN and system sounds? If not, that would be extremely useful. I wouldn't always use it, but if I were in a place where I couldn't turn my volume down on my note-taker and wanted to mute my sound so as not to be disruptive, I would definitely do it.

what situation couldn't you turn your volume down unless you rely off of speech and in that case the speech would do a lot more invading than the sounds would

I turn it all the way down and the speech off but I can still hear the sounds and it makes me self-conscious hah. XD

you may be able to hear them yeah but they may not carry far and i thought the /sounds toggle turned all sounds off, it has for me at least

Not for me. Only system sounds and QN's. But the game sounds still work.

Hahaha. A time I can see turning off all sound being useful is if you're playing on the Zone in class, when you should be doing other things. I used to play games in school, and have to use headphones or keep the volume extremely low. This was well before the Zone came along, but you get the idea.

/sound should turn all sounds on/off.
I often have all my sounds turned off if I'm on the zone and not alone in the house etc - it does have its uses...

@Jage: Anagram Mania and related games, but thoe are the only ones I've tried to play when this happened.
@Dawn: Guilty as charged. XDDDDD I solved the problem by doing the earbud thing. I only do this when class is moving slow and I need to keep awake. Hah. Or when people are doing an assignment I can't do or already have done. But surprisingly, it's so mindless that I can still pay attention.

Okay, I have finally figured out what is going on with this. Even when I tell the Zone to turn off sound, my Braille Sense doesn't. But my laptop does. Braille fail. Oh well, that solves the problem, I guess.
